New Delhi: CERT-In recently issued a warning citing multiple vulnerabilities in Google Chrome for Desktop, which could allow a remote attacker to “cause denial of service conditions and execute arbitrary code on the targeted system.”
Denial of Service (DoS) Condition refers to actions that disrupt the normal functioning of a system, making it unavailable to its intended users. An attacker can flood the target with excessive requests, overloading the system and making it slow down or crash.
Execution of Arbitrary Code signifies that the attacker can run their code on someone else’s system. Through this method, they can steal data, create backdoors for future access or compromise the integrity and security of the system even further.
Google Chrome has released a ‘Stable Channel Update for Desktop’ for Windows, Mac, and Linux, which will roll out over the coming days or weeks. An Extended Stable channel has also been updated for Windows and Mac which will roll out soon.
