Chennai, May 15 (APAC Media): In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has transferred 17 IAS officers across the state. IAS V Arun Roy has been appointed as the Secretary in the Higher Education Department of the state.Â
Before this, Roy was serving as the Secretary to the Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce department.
Other Key Transfers in the State Include:Â
- IAS S. Vijayakumar, who was earlier serving as Commissioner of Land Reforms, has been appointed as Secretary to the Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Department.Â
- IAS Darez Ahamed, currently serving as Managing Director and CEO of GUIDANCE Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as Secretary to the Health and Family Welfare Department.
- IAS Anu George, formerly serving as Secretary III to the Chief Minister, has been posted as Secretary to the Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department.
- IAS Mariam Pallavi Baldev, who was serving as Special Secretary in the Industries Department, has been appointed as Secretary to the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department.
- IAS N. Subbaiyan has been posted as Secretary to the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department.
- IAS P. Umanath, former Secretary-I to Chief Minister, has been appointed as Secretary and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation.
- IAS M. S. Shanmugam, who earlier served as Secretary-II to the Chief Minister, has been appointed as Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation.
- IAS R. Jaya, Secretary of the Special Initiatives Department, has been appointed as Chief Resident Commissioner at Tamil Nadu House, New Delhi.
District and Departmental Transfers are Listed Below:Â
- IAS A. Arun Thamburaj, earlier serving as Collector of Salem, has been posted as Director of Information and Public Relations, and Ex-officio Secretary to the Tamil Development and Information Department.
- IAS K. Elambahavath, former Collector of Thoothukudi, has been transferred as District Collector of Salem.
- IAS R. Brindha Devi has been appointed as Director of Art and Culture.
- IAS T. Udhayachandran has been assigned to Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation Limited.
- IAS Kumar Jayant has been deputed to Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited.
The latest appointments are being viewed as part of a wider administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening governance and improving public service delivery across the state.Â
