Bhubaneswar: IAS NK Dhal has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary [ACS] to the chief minister, by the Odisha government. Nikunja Bihari Dhal is a senior IAS officer from the 1993 batch of the Odisha cadre. The department of General Administration and Public Grievance [GA&PG] announced the appointment in a notification.
Dhal was previously working in Odisha as Chief Electoral Officer, since March 2023. Dhal was previously assigned significant roles like, Special Relief Commissioner, Special Residence Commissioner New Delhi and Commercial Tax Commissioner.
He was also indulged in various State Government Departments accompanied by energy, Health and Family Welfare, Revenue and Disaster Management , Panchayati Raj and Industries , Excise and Water Resources.
