Lucknow: According to an official release, senior IAS officer Manoj Kumar Singh has taken charge as the new chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh. He is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1988 batch of Uttar Pradesh cadre.
Singh replaces IAS Durga Shanker Mishra. He was holding the positions of additional chief secretary for the Panchayati Raj department, commissioner for infrastructure and industrial development, and commissioner for farm production, according to the statement.
Throughout his career, he has fulfilled significant administrative duties, serving as the divisional commissioner of Moradabad and the district magistrate of Lalitpur, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Pilibhit, Moradabad, and Aligarh. Singh is regarded as a well-known member of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s group. He also played a pivotal role in state’s COVID management during the pandemic.
