Gurugram: CJ Darcl Logistics Ltd. has introduced a new approach to transporting heavy construction equipment using specialized rail rakes. This marks the first instance in the industry where machines from multiple OEMs are aggregated and transported via the Indian Railways network.
The company recently transported 34 excavators, including models from Volvo CE, Komatsu India Private Limited, and Gainwell Commosales Private Limited (a Caterpillar Inc. dealer), from Chennai (Tamil Nadu) to Ballabgarh (Haryana).
This initiative aligns with CJ Darcl’s focus on sustainability. Rail transport is known for its efficiency and lower carbon footprint compared to road transport. Using rail rakes to move excavators not only enhances operational efficiency but also supports the government’s infrastructure goals by reducing environmental impact.
