Bengaluru: Salesforce has unveiled its latest State of Sales report, revealing significant trends in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) among sales teams globally. The report, which surveyed 5,500 sales professionals across 27 countries, including 300 from India, highlights both the widespread adoption of AI and the ongoing challenges faced by sales teams.
According to the report, 89% of sales teams in India have either fully integrated or are currently experimenting with AI technologies. This marks a notable increase in AI adoption, driven by the desire to enhance data accuracy and personalize customer interactions. However, despite this progress, sales teams face ongoing concerns related to data security and customer trust. The report also highlights a key challenge: sales representatives in India spend an average of just 27% of their workweek engaging directly with customers, struggling to meet evolving customer expectations. This challenge is exacerbated by a significant rise in the difficulty of managing these expectations compared to the previous year.
Employee retention in the sales sector shows a mixed picture. Globally, the average staff turnover rate has decreased to 18% over the past year from 25% in 2022. In contrast, India reports a higher turnover rate of 34%, with 12% of sales professionals actively seeking new job opportunities.
