New Delhi: The Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) announced in a press release that Usha Venugopal has been named chairman and managing director. According to IRFC, Venugopal was appointed as the new managing director and chairman by the board of directors, and she began her duties on August 1.
The company also disclosed that Uma Ranade, the former managing director and chairperson, stepped down from her position after reaching superannuation. According to the press statement from the company, Venugopal will also take on the role of CEO. She is an Accounts Service officer from the 1987 batch of Indian Railways.
In addition to overseeing extra members (financial) in the Ministry of Railways, Venugopal has over 35 years of experience working for the Indian Railways. She graduated from the University of Delhi with a post-graduate degree in mathematical statistics.
