New Delhi: Actor Rashmika Mandanna has taken on a new role as the national brand ambassador for the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), part of the Ministry of Home Affairs. After experiencing cyber harassment herself, Mandanna is set to lead campaigns aimed at educating people about online dangers like deep fakes, cyberbullying, and scams.
Mandanna, who has a huge following on social media, hopes to use her influence to spread awareness about staying safe online. She shared that her own experience with a deep fake video made her want to stand up against cybercrime, and now, with government support, she plans to make a difference.
The Ministry’s cyber safety handle, Cyber Dost, welcomed her appointment, saying they’re ready to tackle cyber threats together. The I4C, which coordinates responses to cybercrime across India, sees Mandanna’s involvement as a way to reach more people and help protect them from online threats.
