New Delhi: Subodh Kumar Singh has been appointed as the Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Steel. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment to the post. Before taking up this role, he served as the Director-General of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Singh is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of the 1997 batch belonging to the Chhattisgarh cadre. He was ousted from the NTA in the wake of alleged irregularities in conducting the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and the UGC-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). Following his exit, he was put on compulsory wait in the Department of Personnel and Training.
