Ranchi: The government of Jharkhand has appointed Alka Tiwari as the new Chief Secretary of the state ahead of assembly elections. Tiwari is an Indian Administrative Service Officer of the 1988 batch belonging to the Jharkhand cadre.
Tiwari previously served as the Secretary of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST). Her vast experience in governance positions her well as Jharkhand prepares for the upcoming elections. Her tenure is expected to be extended until her superannuation on September 30, 2025.
Tiwari is expected to play a pivotal role in managing the state’s administrative functions during the election period.
