Jio Platforms and NICSI join hands to provide cloud services to government entities

New Delhi: The National Informatics Centre Services Inc. (NICSI) and Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) have announced a public-private partnership to offer National Government Cloud (NGC) for the government’s digital initiatives over the cloud.

Under the collaboration, NICSI will provide data center space and non-IT infrastructure to government entities based on a pay-as-you-use model. Jio Platforms would manage the National Government Cloud services for a period of seven years, while NICSI and the National Informatics Centre (NIC) will oversee the platform’s performance and governance. The capital investment and energy consumption will be shared between the two parties.

The partnership is expected to significantly enhance national cloud infrastructure, and drive efficiency and innovation in government-run digital services.
