New Delhi: Mara Kocho has been selected as the next Managing Director of the North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC). The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) chose Kocho from two candidates during its meeting on November 11. He currently works as Chief Engineer (Electrical) at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
As the new MD, Kocho will take charge of NEHHDC’s operations, reporting to the board of directors and the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER). His main role will be to drive the corporation’s efforts to boost the handicrafts and handlooms sector in the northeast.
Kocho’s selection comes as NEHHDC aims to strengthen its initiatives and support local artisans. His leadership will be crucial in achieving the corporation’s goals and enhancing its impact in the region.
