Dehradun: In its efforts to equip students with advanced cloud-computing skills, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has announced a partnership with Amazon Web Service (AWS) India and CloudThat. The collaboration will leverage AWS’s comprehensive learning ecosystem and CloudThat’s expertise in instructor-led training. The initiative aims to prepare students for the tech-driven Industry 4.0 job market by blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience.
Under the partnership, UPES will train students in cloud technologies by integrating the AWS Skill Builder into its curriculum along with the instructor-led sessions by CloudThat. Through the AWS Skill Builder platform, students will gain access to more than 600 courses across 30+ technical domains and over 1,000 lab experiences. Practical learning tools like AWS Builder Labs, AWS SimuLearn, and immersive simulations such as AWS Cloud Quest and AWS Industry Quest are included. Additionally, AWS Jam enables real-world problem-solving in areas like security, DevOps, AI/ML, and cloud migration, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
Dr. Ram Sharma, Vice Chancellor of UPES, highlighted the university’s focus on emerging technologies, stating: “This collaboration empowers our students with cutting-edge tools and practical experiences, preparing them to excel in domains like AI, ML, and cybersecurity.”
Amit Mehta, Head – Training and Certification, AWS India Private Limited, emphasized AWS’s commitment to bridging the cloud skills gap, saying: “We are thrilled to enable 500 students from UPES with hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills, contributing to India’s growing digital economy.”
