Bengaluru: Swiggy has introduced SNACC, a standalone app dedicated to delivering meals, snacks, and beverages within 15 minutes. The service, which launched on January 7 in select areas of Bengaluru, signals the growing competition in India’s rapid food delivery sector.
Key Features of SNACC
SNACC marks Swiggy’s shift from consolidating all its services under a single app to diversifying offerings across separate platforms. The app features categories such as Indian Breakfast, Coffee, Cold Beverages, and Protein, with a mix of branded items, including Blue Tokai and The Whole Truth, alongside unbranded options sourced from third-party providers.
The app adopts a visually distinct design with a fluorescent green interface and dark blue text. According to industry sources, SNACC was conceptualized in mid-December, with the rollout taking less than a month.
Competitive Landscape
Swiggy’s entry into the 15-minute food delivery space follows Zomato’s launch of a similar service within its main app. Rivals like Blinkit and Zepto are also expanding their quick-food delivery options, with Blinkit’s Bistro and Zepto Cafe already operational. Other players such as Swish, Magicpin, and Zing are targeting this high-demand market, intensifying competition.
Expansion Plans
Swiggy plans to expand SNACC to other cities, though specific timelines have not been disclosed. The rollout highlights the growing demand for hyper-quick delivery services as companies strive to differentiate themselves and capture market share in India’s evolving food delivery landscape.
This move aligns with the broader trend of companies launching dedicated platforms to cater to niche consumer segments, indicating a strategic push towards enhancing user experiences while navigating an increasingly crowded market.
