New Delhi: Amitabh Nag, Chief Executive Officer of the Digital India Bhashini Division under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), has been assigned additional charge as Director of India Dataset Platform (AIkosh) & Application Development Initiative at IndiaAI.
He announced the development on LinkedIn, stating, “I’m happy to share that I’m given the Additional Charge as Director (India Dataset Platform [AIkosh] & Application Development initiative) at IndiaAI.”
IndiaAI, the National Portal on Artificial Intelligence, serves as a central hub for AI-related advancements in India. It is a key initiative under MeitY’s IndiaAI Mission, which aims to drive AI innovation, democratize computing access, enhance data quality, foster industry collaboration, and promote responsible AI development.
Earlier this month, Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, launched several initiatives under the IndiaAI Mission.
Among them was AIKosha: IndiaAI Datasets Platform, a unified repository providing secure access to datasets, AI models, and development tools. It features AI sandbox capabilities, dataset readiness scoring, encryption-based security, and real-time filtering mechanisms.
The IndiaAI Application Development Initiative (IADI), another key pillar of the IndiaAI Mission, focuses on developing and scaling AI-driven solutions in critical sectors such as healthcare, climate change, governance, agriculture and learning disabilities.
Here it should be mentioned that the recently launched IndiaAI Innovation Challenge received over 900 AI solution submissions, of which 30 have been shortlisted across different maturity levels such as idea, prototype and existing solutions.
