New Delhi: IAS Pawan Yadav has been appointed as the private secretary to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Yadav is a 2014-batch officer from the Manipur cadre. Before this appointment he was serving as deputy secretary in the Union Home Ministry. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the end of his tenure as deputy secretary, with his new role taking effect immediately. His appointment as private secretary to Shah will be effective till April 2, 2027, or until the completion of his term.
Yadav has received multiple accolades for his service. He has been felicitated with the Prime Minister’s Award for his exemplary work as District Collector of Bishnupur. On Civil Services Day in 2018, he received recognition for his efforts in advancing the government’s digital payments mission, which encourages digital and cashless financial transactions.
The previous private secretary to the home minister, IAS Saket Kumar (2009 batch, Bihar cadre), who served from 2019, has been transferred and appointed as the Joint Secretary in the commerce ministry.
