London: The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee is undertaking an official visit to the United Kingdom.
The centrepiece of the CM’s visit is the speech she is expected to deliver at the Kellogg College at Oxford University on 27 March.
This makes her one of the first CMs in the country to have been specifically invited to deliver a speech at Oxford College.
The topic of the speech will.be on “Social Development: Empowerment of Women Children.”
Thanks to a slew of social schemes like Kanyashree, Rupashree and Lokkhir Bhandar among others, Oxford College had specially invited currently the only woman CM in the country.
The CM Mamata Banerjee who has landed in the UK with a business convoy from Kolkata will leverage this visit for other business activities too. There are several key engagements aimed at bolstering Bengal’s economy.
The CM is attending a function at the Indian High Commission in London on Monday 24 March. This will be followed by two meetings with industrialists to attract investments in West Bengal scheduled on both 25 and 26 March.
The CM’s entourage is expected to return to Kolkata on 28 March.
