New Delhi:Â The MeitY Startup Hub (MSH) and Startup Policy Forum (SPF) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at advancing research and policy development in deeptech, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. The move comes amid growing demand for structured regulatory support for innovation-driven startups in India.
Focus on Policy Research and Regulatory Frameworks
The partnership will prioritise joint research initiatives and policy formulation to support the evolving needs of the startup ecosystem. According to an official statement, the collaboration seeks to promote evidence-based policymaking through research and knowledge exchange.
The Startup Policy Forum will specifically focus on conducting policy research, supporting R&D activities, and advocating for regulatory frameworks that enable technology-led startups to scale sustainably. The engagement is part of broader efforts to align startup support mechanisms with evolving innovation trends.
Alignment with National Innovation Priorities
MSH, an initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), plays a key role in facilitating support for early-stage startups, particularly those working in emerging tech domains. Through this alliance with SPF, the two organisations aim to bridge existing gaps in policy and implementation.
This collaboration also aligns with the Centre’s larger strategy to create an enabling environment for deeptech and AI innovation, a sector increasingly recognised for its role in national digital transformation.
SPF’s Extended Network and Institutional Ties
Startup Policy Forum, which includes members from leading Indian startups such as CRED, Groww, Zerodha, Swiggy, and Dream11, has already built institutional partnerships with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and IIT Madras’s Centre for Research on Start-Ups and Risk Financing (CREST). These partnerships are expected to feed into the new initiative by offering practical insights and access to a wider research base.
