New Delhi:Â In a first-of-its-kind move for the Indian telecom sector, Airtel has announced its partnership with quick commerce platform Blinkit to offer ultra-fast SIM card delivery.
As a result of the collaboration between Airtel and Blinkit, this service is now available across 16 major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and others, with plans for expansion into additional towns and cities.
The collaboration will enable SIM card delivery within just 10 minutes at the customers’ doorsteps.
Seamless Customer Experience
The newly launched service allows customers to receive prepaid or postpaid SIM cards at their homes for a nominal convenience fee of Rs. 49. Following the delivery, the SIM card can be activated using a simple Aadhaar-based eKYC process. Customers can also opt for Mobile Number Portability (MNP) to switch their existing number to the Airtel network.
To ensure a hassle-free onboarding, customers will have access to a step-by-step video for activation and can manage their account or get assistance through the Airtel Thanks App. New users in need of help can also reach out via Airtel’s helpline number.
Mandatory Activation Window
As part of the process, customers must activate their new SIM cards within a 15-day window from the date of delivery. This step ensures the smooth continuation of services and avoids delays in usage.
