New Delhi: India-based edtech company upGrad has partnered with Dubai’s Seed Group to deliver artificial intelligence (AI) and data-focused skilling programs across the UAE and the broader MENA region.
The collaboration aims to support workforce transformation amid rising demand for AI-related skills in both corporate and public sectors.
Focus on Workforce Readiness in the Digital Economy
Seed Group, a company associated with The Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, will help upGrad access key markets in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The alliance comes at a time when governments in the Middle East are ramping up efforts to build future-ready digital workforces aligned with emerging technologies such as AI and data science.
Hisham Al Gurg, CEO of Seed Group, stated that the partnership addresses a growing need for industry-relevant upskilling, particularly in Dubai’s rapidly evolving economy. He noted that integrating hands-on AI training into workforce development strategies could help bridge skill gaps and support long-term digital ambitions.
Strategic Expansion for upGrad
For upGrad, the deal reflects a broader strategy to strengthen its presence in international markets. According to Myleeta AgaWilliams, CEO of the company’s international consumer business, the partnership is part of upGrad’s effort to make AI-led upskilling more accessible at a global scale. She added that corporate and government leaders in the UAE are increasingly recognising the importance of AI adoption and are investing in tech-driven workforce transformation.
