Lucknow: In a fresh administrative overhaul aimed at improving governance efficiency, the Uttar Pradesh government has implemented a new round of bureaucratic transfers, reallocating responsibilities among six senior IAS officers. The reshuffle spans various departments, including civil defence, minority welfare, excise, water supply, and rural development. According to the official notification, IAS Divya Prakash Giri (2010 batch) has been appointed Special Secretary, Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department. He was previously Special Secretary in the Excise Department.
Other key appointments and transfers are as follows:
- IAS Sanyukta Samaddar (1999 batch): Currently Principal Secretary, Political Pension and Civil Defence Department, has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary, Minority Welfare and Muslim Waqf Department.
- IAS Devendra Kumar Singh Kushwaha (2012 batch): Transferred from the Medical Education Department to serve as Special Secretary, Excise Department.
- IAS Rajneesh Chandra (2014 batch): Moved from Special Secretary, Social Welfare Department, to Special Secretary, Rural Development Department.
- IAS Rajendra Singh: Reassigned from the Rural Development Department to serve as Special Secretary, Social Welfare Department.
- IAS Pooja Yadav (2019 batch): Previously on the waiting list, appointed as Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The move is seen as part of the state’s broader effort to streamline departmental functioning and improve service delivery across sectors.
