Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced a partnership with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to leverage satellite technology for real-time public service delivery and monitoring, aiming for tech-driven governance.
The state’s Real Time Governance System (RTGS) has entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR), under ISRO, to enhance the capabilities of its AWARE platform, a digital system designed to provide timely alerts and insights across multiple sectors.
“In a landmark step in leveraging space tech for real-time citizen-centric governance, a 5-year MoU was signed between SHAR (ISRO) and RTGS today, in the presence of SHAR Director Mr Rajarajan,” CM Naidu said in a post on X.
Under the agreement, satellite technology, specifically imagery and scientific data, will be integrated into 42 applications across sectors such as agriculture, weather monitoring, disaster management and urban planning.
The collaboration is expected to significantly strengthen decision-making and early warning systems in the state.
The AWARE platform, central to this initiative, already combines data from satellites, drones, IoT devices, sensors, mobile inputs and CCTV networks. It delivers real-time alerts and advisories to both citizens and government officials through SMS, WhatsApp, as well as various media channels, ensuring timely responses and improved public service delivery.
