Bihar Govt Transfers 3 IAS Officers; IAS Pankaj Kumar Made Principal Secy, Agriculture Dept

Patna: As part of a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the government of Bihar has announced the transfer and fresh postings of three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. According to the General Administration Department’s notification, IAS Pankaj Kumar (1997 batch) has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department. 

Kumar previously served as the Principal Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department. In addition to the new role, Kumar will hold the additional charge of Investigation Commissioner, General Administration Department; Principal Secretary, Food and Consumer Protection Department; and Managing Director, Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, Patna.

The list of other transfers includes
  • IAS Manoj Kumar Singh (2012 batch), a promotee officer currently serving as Secretary, Health Department, has now been made Secretary, Energy Department. 
  • IAS Pankaj Kumar Pal (2002 batch), who was previously the Secretary of the Energy Department, has now taken charge as Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department.
Besides these transfers, two senior IAS officers have been relieved by the state government for central deputation. These include:
  • IAS Sanjay Kumar Agarwal (2002 batch), currently serving as Secretary, Department of Agriculture, has been relieved for appointment as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.
  • IAS Dayanidhan Pandey (2006 batch), earlier serving as Additional Member, Revenue Council Department, has also been relieved for appointment to the post of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Government of India, New Delhi.
