Raipur: In a strategic move to strengthen administrative efficiency, the Chhattisgarh government has reassigned additional responsibilities to five Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. As per the official notification by the General Administration Department, IAS Dr. Rohit Yadav (2002 batch), currently serving as Secretary, Energy Department, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Department.Â
The list of other appointments includes
- IAS Avinash Champawat (2003 batch): Presently handling the General Administration Department (GAD) along with Revenue and Disaster Management, Champawat has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Secretary, Public Grievance Redressal Department.
- IAS Ankit Anand (2006 batch): Currently the Secretary of the Housing and Environment Department, Anand will now also manage the Commercial Tax (Registration) Department. His new role is intended to support improved revenue collection and streamline commercial tax operations.
- IAS Himshikhar Gupta (2007 batch): Currently serving as Home Secretary, Gupta will now also oversee the Labor Department. The dual charge is aimed at fostering better integration between internal security and labor welfare initiatives.
- IAS Chandan Kumar (2011 batch): Kumar has been named the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran (NRDA), replacing IAS Saurabh Kumar, who has gone on central deputation. In addition, he will hold the charge of Special Secretary, Finance Department, while continuing with his existing responsibilities.
The reshuffle reflects the state government’s efforts to ensure seamless governance amidst administrative transitions.
