Kohima: Nagaland University has signed an MoU with the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) for fostering global research.
RIS is an autonomous think tank under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The University Connect Hub has been established under this MoU. It will facilitate collaborative research, knowledge sharing and capacity building between Nagaland University and RIS.
The University Connect Hub will conduct joint research and resource pooling, organise seminars and conferences on the global economy, climate change and development finance.
It will also hold faculty exchange programs, conduct joint publications and research disseminations and exchange of research publications.
This landmark agreement makes Nagaland University one of only 23 Indian universities to collaborate with RIS.
This marks a significant step for academic achievement in the Northeast.
The Forum for India Development Corporation (FIDC) of RIS has appointed Prof Jayanta Choudhury of Nagaland University as the first academic from the Northeast to its Steering Committee.
