Bhubaneswar: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Odisha government has transferred three IPS officers to strengthen the state’s internal security and intelligence apparatus. Senior IPS Sanjeeb Panda (1994 batch) has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG), Anti-Naxal Operations, with immediate effect.Â
Panda will also oversee the Special Intelligence Wing (SIW) and report directly to the Director General and Inspector General of Police, Odisha. Prior to this, Panda served as ADG, Training and Director of the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA).
In Panda’s absence, IPS Anup Kumar Sahoo (2006 batch), currently Inspector General of Police (IGP), Training, has been given additional charge as interim Director of BPSPA until further orders.
Other transfers include
- IPS Akhileshvar Singh (2009 batch), formerly Deputy Inspector General (DIG), South Western Range (SWR), Koraput, has been transferred to DIG, Special Intelligence Wing (SIW), Bhubaneswar.
- IPS Dr. Kanwar Vishal Singh (2010 batch), earlier DIG, SIW, has been posted as DIG, SWR, Koraput.
These transfers are part of the state’s strategic move to reinforce its anti-Naxal and intelligence efforts.
