New Delhi: In a significant bureaucratic move, IAS Prince Dhawan (2012 batch), belonging to the AGMUT cadre, has been selected as Executive Director of Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd. (REC), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power.
Dhawan, who currently serves as Managing Director of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Special Commissioner (Transport), will take up the new assignment on a deputation basis for an initial term of three years.Â
Known for his strong administrative record, Dhawan has served across three state and union territory governments over the last decade. His tenure in Arunachal Pradesh earned him the National e-Governance Award in 2017-18, as well as the state gold medal for outstanding public service. Under his leadership, the state IT Department was recognized as the best-performing department in 2018.
In Delhi, Dhawan has worked on introducing technology-driven solutions for governance, with a focus on efficiency and public engagement. As District Magistrate of West Delhi, Dhawan has been actively involved in social initiatives, including the rehabilitation of street children and youth upskilling programs.
Dhawan’s experience in leveraging technology and implementing reforms aligns well with REC’s strategic vision.
