UP Govt Transfers 14 Senior IAS Officers; IAS Deepak Kumar Named Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner

Lucknow: As a part of a major bureaucratic overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 14 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. According to the official notification, IAS Deepak Kumar, currently the Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance and Basic and Secondary Education Department, has now been entrusted with key responsibilities, including Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner, a post previously held by IAS SP Goyal, the present Chief Secretary.

Kumar will also hold the post of Chairman of the Public Infrastructure and Capital Knowledge Utilization Program (PICKUP), CEO of the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), Additional Chief Secretary of the Coordination Department, and Project Director of the Uttar Pradesh Development and Agricultural Services Program (UPDASP).

Consequently, Goyal has been relieved of his position as the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner and CEO of UPDA. As per the orders, he will no longer hold any portfolio in the government.

The list of other transfers includes

IAS Parthasarathi Sen Sharma, who has led the Medical and Health Department since August 2022, has been transferred and posted as the new Principal Secretary of the Basic and Secondary Education Department.
IAS Amit Kumar Ghosh, recently returned from central deputation, has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department and the Medical Education Department.
IAS Mukesh Meshram, formerly Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department, has been relieved from his position as the Director General of the Tourism Department and moved to lead the Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries Department.
IAS Amrit Abhijat has been transferred from his position as the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development, Urban Employment, and Poverty Alleviation Program Department and has taken charge as the new Principal Secretary of the Tourism, Culture, and Charitable Works Department.
IAS Sanjay Prasad has been relieved from the post of Principal Secretary, Civil Aviation Department. All other portfolios held by him remain unchanged.
IAS Ajay Chauhan has been relieved from his current post, along with the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer, UPSHA (Uttar Pradesh State Highways Authority).
IAS Alok Kumar III has been relieved from his role as Principal Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Reorganization Coordination, Language, National Integration and General Administration Department, and also as Director, Hindi Sansthan, Government of Uttar Pradesh. He will now hold the additional charge of Nodal Officer, Zero Poverty Uttar Pradesh Campaign.
IAS P. Guruprasad has been relieved from the position of Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, and now holds additional charge as Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Urban Employment, and Poverty Alleviation Program Department.
IAS Manish Chauhan has been appointed as Principal Secretary, overseeing Secretariat Administration, Uttar Pradesh Reorganization Coordination, Language, National Integration, and the General Administration Department. He will also take charge as the Director of the Hindi Sansthan.
IAS Ranveer Prasad has been given additional charge of Principal Secretary, Revenue Department.
IAS Anamika Singh has been posted as Commissioner of the Food and Logistics department.
IAS Bhupendra S. Chaudhary has been appointed as Divisional Commissioner, Bareilly.
