New Delhi: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a significant reform aimed at overhauling its public sector recruitment system. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the state will soon implement a single, unified entrance examination for all government job recruitments, a move inspired by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) model.
Under this new system, the existing practice of holding multiple department-specific examinations will be replaced by one comprehensive test, designed to bring greater transparency, consistency and efficiency to the recruitment process. Officials said the reform will simplify procedures for aspirants and help fill thousands of vacant government posts across various departments more swiftly.
At present, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) conducts separate examinations for different categories of posts, often leading to lengthy procedures and appointment delays. The proposed single-window model will introduce a standardised, centralised examination, streamlining the selection process and cutting down administrative delays.
Chief Minister Yadav emphasised that the reform will make the recruitment process simpler and fairer for candidates while improving efficiency across state departments. He noted that conducting multiple exams for different positions consumes considerable time and resources, whereas a unified system would ensure faster appointments and greater transparency.
Highlighting the state’s employment priorities, the Chief Minister said that filling more than 20,000 vacant posts in the police department over the next three years is a key focus area. The new examination framework is expected to accelerate recruitment and maintain fairness in the selection process.
According to reports, officials said that the proposal is currently under the planning stage, but once implemented, it is expected to significantly shorten the recruitment cycle, from notification to final appointment, addressing one of the major bottlenecks in the state’s hiring process.
