Mumbai: As part of a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has announced the transfers of seven Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. Notably, IAS Shekhar Singh has been appointed as the Commissioner of the 2027 Nashik Kumbh Mela.Â
Singh is currently serving as the Municipal Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad.Â
The list of other transfers includes
- IAS M. Devendra Singh, previously District Collector of Ratnagiri, has been appointed as Member Secretary, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Mumbai. He will oversee environmental regulations, pollution control, and industrial compliance across the state.
- IAS Jalaj Sharma, former District Collector of Nashik, will now serve as Metropolitan Commissioner of the Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA), where he is expected to boost ongoing infrastructure and urban development projects.
- IAS Ayush Prasad, who served as District Collector of Jalgaon, has been transferred to Nashik to replace Sharma as District Collector.
- IAS Rohan Ghughe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad, Thane, takes over as the District Collector of Jalgaon.
- IAS Sanjay Kolte, former Managing Director, Shivshahi Rehabilitation Project, Mumbai, has been appointed as Sugar Commissioner of Maharashtra, based in Pune.
- IAS Manoj Jindal, Joint Managing Director, MSRDC, will assume charge as District Collector of Ratnagiri, replacing M. Devendra Singh.
