Patna: The Bihar government has appointed IAS Priyanka Rani of the 2019 batch as the Director of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department.
Soon after taking charge, she said the overall social, educational, and economic development of SC and ST communities would be her top priority.
Priyanka stressed that all welfare schemes run by the department must be implemented efficiently, on time, and in a transparent manner, in line with government objectives. She said eligible beneficiaries should receive benefits without delay, irregularities, or discrimination. Clear monitoring and accountability, she added, would be ensured at every level.
Highlighting the role of Dr. Ambedkar Welfare Hostels and Residential Schools, Priyanka said special attention would be given to improving academic standards, discipline, and basic infrastructure. She said creating a safe and supportive environment for students was essential for their all-round development. Quality education, proper facilities, and a positive learning atmosphere will remain a key focus of the department.
Emphasizing transparency and sensitivity, Priyanka said public welfare issues would be addressed promptly. She expressed confidence that with collective effort from officers and staff, the department would achieve its goals and play a meaningful role in uplifting SC and ST communities across the state.
