Uttar Pradesh Govt Promotes 67 IAS Officers; Four 2001 Batch Officers Made Principal Secretaries

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government carried out a major administrative exercise by promoting 67 IAS officers across multiple batches. The promotions, which will take effect from January 1, 2026, are expected to lead to a reshuffle of key administrative positions across the state.

At the senior-most level, four IAS officers from the 2001 batch have been elevated to the rank of Principal Secretary with supertime pay. These promotions mark a significant step in their careers and place them in the top administrative bracket of the state.

IAS Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil – Currently Divisional Commissioner, Devipatan Division
IAS Ajay Kumar Shukla – Currently Secretary, Urban Development
IAS Aparna U – Currently Secretary, Medical Education
IAS SVS Ranga Rao – Currently Member, Revenue Board

In another key development, 19 IAS officers from the 2010 batch were promoted from the rank of Special Secretary to Secretary.

A total of 30 IAS officers from the 2013 batch were promoted to Selection Grade Pay of Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900. Some officers received pro forma promotions. All officers in this category must complete their mid-career training within three years to retain the benefit.
