Kolkata: The Bidhannagar Commissionerate has launched a new mobile app for citizens called Bidhannagar Police.
Available on the Google Play Store, this user-friendly mobile app will provide emergency response, besides offering traffic updates.
For the convenience of citizens, the link for downloading the app is also provided in the official WhatsApp group of Bidhannagar Commissionerate.
For emergencies, there is an SOS option at the top of the app. Once on touching the option, a call will be automatically connected to the 112 emergency number.
The locations of the citizens in emergencies will be given to the police, who can then send quick response teams.
For missing mobiles and other articles, reports can be filed in the police stations through this app only. Even preliminary reports for cyber crimes or accidents can be filed from the app.
The app also has options for traffic challan payments and FIR downloads. Even police clearance certificates for renting flats in Salt Lake and passport verification statistics can be tracked from the app.
The app has the mobile and e-mail IDs of all 15 police stations of the Bidhan Nagar Commissionerate. It has all the control room numbers as well as the mobile numbers and e-mail IDs of 14 senior police officers.
The citizens can also find parking spots live real time from the app. All police notices, as well as traffic updates, will also be provided.
Last but not least, the app has the repository of the official Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, X-handle and Instagram links of the Bidhannagar Commissionerate.
