New Delhi: Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) has signed two key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen healthcare services and modern education infrastructure in rural and underserved regions.
The initiatives reflect HURL’s focus on community development through targeted and sustainable CSR programmes.
Project AAROGYA MITRA for Rural Healthcare
In partnership with Manav Vikas Sanstha (MVS) India, HURL has launched Project AAROGYA MITRA, a flagship CSR initiative aimed at improving access to quality healthcare in rural areas. The MoU was signed in the presence of HURL Managing Director Dr. S. P. Mohanty and representatives of MVS.
Under the project, AI-enabled Health ATM machines will be installed at selected Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, and government hospitals in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, Barauni in Bihar, and Sindri in Jharkhand. These digital platforms will provide instant health check-ups, create digital health records, and support early detection of diseases. The initiative is expected to benefit over 76,000 people every year, with all services offered free of cost. The project aims to strengthen preventive healthcare and build resilient public health systems.
Project PRAYAS to Modernise Government Schools
HURL has also signed a separate MoU with EdCIL India Limited to launch Project PRAYAS, short for Pragatisheel Yug Aadhunik Shiksha. The initiative focuses on upgrading education infrastructure in government schools through modern and sustainable solutions.
The project includes setting up ATAL Tinkering Labs for hands-on STEM learning, Virtual Reality labs for immersive education, and solar-powered smart classrooms. These facilities will be introduced in nine government schools across Gorakhpur, Sindri in Dhanbad, and Barauni in Begusarai.
Focus on Sustainable Community Development
Through these initiatives, HURL aims to promote inclusive growth by improving healthcare access and creating future-ready learning environments. The projects highlight the organisation’s commitment to long-term social impact, education-led empowerment, and sustainable community development.
