Jaipur: Senior IAS Aarti Dogra has been appointed Secretary of the Energy Department in Rajasthan as part of a recent administrative reshuffle.
She will continue as Chairperson of state DISCOMs and has also been given additional charge as Chairperson of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam.
Dogra brings extensive administrative experience to her expanded role. She previously served as Managing Director of the Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd., becoming the first woman IAS officer to head a DISCOM in the state. Her field experience includes key postings as District Collector of Ajmer, Bikaner, and Bundi, as well as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Ajmer.
During her tenure in Bikaner, Dogra launched the “Banko Bikano” campaign, a community-driven sanitation initiative aimed at eliminating open defecation and improving water and land hygiene. The campaign led to the construction of hundreds of toilets across 195 Gram Panchayats with active public participation and close administrative monitoring. She also took notable steps to promote inclusive governance by encouraging voter participation among differently-abled citizens.
