Seoul, May 20 (APAC Media): India and South Korea on Tuesday signed a new defence cooperation agreement focused on cybersecurity and information sharing during Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Seoul.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Rajnath Singh and South Korean Defence Minister Ahn Gyu-Back with the aim of strengthening strategic and military cooperation between the two countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

Sharing details of the meeting on X, Rajnath Singh said he had an “excellent meeting” with Ahn Gyu-Back in Seoul, where both sides discussed ways to further strengthen defence and strategic relations between India and the Republic of Korea.
The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in cyber defence, intelligence sharing, and protection of critical military infrastructure. It also focuses on improving institutional mechanisms for exchanging defence-related information and boosting regional security coordination.
Before signing the MoU, Singh also visited the Seoul National Cemetery to pay his respects to the Korean men and women who laid their lives for the nation, especially during the Korean War.
India and South Korea are expected to expand cooperation in tackling cyber threats and sharing expertise in defence technology and digital systems. Officials said the partnership is intended to address emerging challenges related to modern warfare and digital security.
