New Delhi, June 16 (APAC Media): In a move aimed at strengthening water quality surveillance, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has launched a pilot project by installing an online water analyser in the Gulmohar Park area of the national capital.
The system has been designed to monitor key water quality parameters in real time, including pH levels, total dissolved solids (TDS) and chlorine content. The initiative comes in the wake of recent complaints related to water contamination in the locality.
According to Malviya Nagar BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay, the pilot project will help authorities continuously track water quality and identify contamination issues at an early stage.
He said the technology can monitor multiple parameters, including disinfectant levels, and provide real-time data on the quality of water being supplied to residents.
Upadhyay noted that water contamination complaints were reported in Gulmohar Park around ten days ago, following which corrective measures were taken by the Delhi Jal Board.
Since most water pipelines are located underground, the newly installed analysers can assist in detecting irregularities in water quality and help officials trace the source of contamination more effectively.
If the pilot project delivers positive results, the Delhi Jal Board is expected to expand the deployment of such analysers across other parts of the city to strengthen water quality monitoring and improve public health safeguards.
