Gandhinagar, July 25 (APAC Media): Gujarat is set to give a major boost to religious tourism with a new plan to upgrade key pilgrimage sites across the state.

₹3.28 Crore Allocated for Pilgrimage Infrastructure

The Gujarat government has sanctioned ₹3.28 crore for the initiative under the Tourism and Yatradham Development Board.

The funds will be used to improve basic infrastructure and visitor facilities at pilgrimage sites.

Key works include drinking water facilities, sanitation infrastructure, temple beautification, approach road upgrades, devotee rest houses and CCTV-based security systems.

The objective is to enhance the pilgrim experience while preserving the cultural and spiritual character of these sacred sites.

Focus on Safety and Visitor Comfort

The initiative places special emphasis on improving safety and convenience for devotees.

CCTV surveillance systems and upgraded infrastructure are expected to enhance the overall visitor experience.

The government has directed officials to complete the projects within the prescribed timeline while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
