New Delhi, June 4, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has issued a set of key administrative orders concerning three senior IAS officers. This decision includes assigning additional charge of the Department of Expenditure to IAS Anuradha Thakur.
The ACC also approved the repatriation of two senior officers, IAS Sajjan Singh Yadav and IAS Rohit Kumar, to their parent cadres.
IAS Anuradha Thakur to Hold Additional Charge Till June 14
Anuradha Thakur is a 1994-batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre. She has over three decades of administrative experience spanning economic affairs, corporate governance and financial regulation.
She will hold the additional charge from June 4 to June 14, 2026, during the leave of incumbent Secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam.
The temporary arrangement has been made to ensure the smooth functioning of the Department of Expenditure, which oversees government spending and budget management.
ACC Clears Repatriation of Sajjan Singh Yadav
The ACC also approved the repatriation of IAS Sajjan Singh Yadav, following a request made by the Ministry of Home Affairs. This paved the way for his return to the parent cadre.
Sajjan Singh Yadav, a 1995-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, is serving as Special Secretary in the Department of Expenditure.
He has held several senior positions and holds academic qualifications in public policy and finance, including from Harvard University.
Rohit Kumar to Return to Rajasthan Government
The committee has also approved the repatriation of IAS Rohit Kumar, currently posted as Additional Secretary in NITI Aayog, to the Government of Rajasthan.
The move was approved at the request of the Rajasthan government. However, his repatriation will be subject to an extended cooling-off period under the applicable service rules.
Orders Issued Through DoPT
The orders were issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
The communications, signed by Director Annies Kanmani Joy, were circulated to the Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Secretariat, President’s Secretariat, Vice-President’s Secretariat, Parliament secretariats, state chief secretaries and the concerned ministries for necessary action.
These latest decisions form part of the Centre’s routine administrative processes aimed at ensuring continuity and efficiency in governance and cadre management.
