Hyderabad, June 26 (APAC Media): The Telangana government on Friday appointed senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju as the state’s next Chief Secretary.Â
A 1992-batch IAS officer, Jaju will assume office on July 1, succeeding incumbent Chief Secretary K Rama Krishna Rao, who is set to retire on June 30.
Jaju is currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).Â
Earlier this week, the Centre repatriated him to his parent cadre, Telangana, following a request from the state government.
In his new role, Jaju will also oversee key portfolios previously handled by Rama Krishna Rao, including Industries and Commerce, Information Technology, and serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Industry and Investment Cell in the Chief Minister’s Office.Â
He will additionally supervise the Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery (SPEED) initiative.Â
