New Delhi, July 17 (APAC Media):Â The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of two IAS officers, IAS Ajay Singh Tomer and IAS Nipun Jindal.
IAS Nipun Jindal to Serve in Finance Ministry
Nipun Jindal is a 2014 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS officer. He has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs for a four year tenure.
Before his Central deputation, he was serving as Director of Digital Technologies and Governance in the Himachal Pradesh government.
A doctor before joining the civil services, Jindal holds an MBBS degree from the University of Rohtak and an MS in Orthopaedics from Rajasthan University, Jaipur.
Over the years, he has held several key administrative positions, including Deputy Commissioner, Managing Director, Mission Director and Special Secretary, besides handling multiple district and state-level assignments.
Jindal has also earned recognition for innovation in governance.
He received the Election Commission of India’s National Award for developing the IT application ‘e-Katch’ and was honoured with the Himachal Pradesh Civil Services Award 2021.
IAS Ajay Singh Tomer Gets Agriculture Ministry Role
Ajay Singh Tomer is a 2012 batch Haryana cadre IAS officer. He has been appointed as Director in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare for a five year tenure.
He was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Ambala before being selected for the Central assignment.

An engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur, Tomer has served in a wide range of administrative roles in Haryana.
He served as Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Municipal Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer, Director, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary and Sub-Divisional Officer.
He was also recognised under the Swachh Bharat Mission for helping Sirsa district achieve Open Defecation Free (ODF) status.
