Patna, July 20 (APAC Media): The Bihar government has opened online applications for electric vehicle (EV) subsidies.Â
The rollout falls under the Bihar Electric Vehicle (Amendment) Policy, 2026. The Transport Department has activated the facility on its official website.
The initiative is being driven by Bihar’s Transport Department, targeting eligible EV buyers across the state who wish to claim financial incentives under the amended policy framework.
What the Scheme Covers
The subsidy applies exclusively to electric vehicles purchased on or after May 15, 2026, the date the amended policy came into effect. Eligible applicants can now submit claims through a dedicated online portal, with the entire process designed to be fully digital.
When and Where
The application window is now live on the Transport Department’s official website, accessible statewide, with no physical visits required to initiate the process.
The move is aimed at accelerating clean mobility adoption in Bihar and cutting down vehicular pollution, aligning with the state’s broader push toward sustainable transportation infrastructure.
How Applicants Can Apply
To apply, vehicle owners must submit key details including their district name, Vehicle Registration Certificate number, engine number, chassis number, date of purchase, PAN card details, and bank account information, along with other supporting documents. The department has advised applicants to keep all paperwork ready in advance to avoid processing delays.
With the portal now operational, Bihar joins a growing list of states digitising EV incentive disbursal, a shift that could meaningfully speed up subsidy claims if execution matches intent, and one worth watching as more buyers test the system in the coming weeks.
