Mumbai, July 20 (APAC Media): The Maharashtra government has constituted a high-level committee to examine the feasibility of conducting government recruitment and competitive examinations in online mode, following concerns raised by the MAHA TET paper leak.
The committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, has been asked to submit its recommendations within two months.

The decision follows the MAHA TET paper leak, which led to a major police investigation and the arrest of several accused, including officials and middlemen.
The incident also figured prominently during the Monsoon Session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, prompting the government to review the existing examination system.
According to a Government Resolution issued by the Higher and Technical Education Department, the panel will examine the feasibility of conducting government examinations online.
It will study the technical, administrative and operational requirements and recommend a roadmap for the transition.
The committee has been empowered to consult officials from various departments, technology experts and educational institutions before finalising its report.
The eight-member committee will be headed by the Chief Secretary.
It includes senior officials from the General Administration, Higher and Technical Education, Finance, School Education, and Electronics, Information Technology & Artificial Intelligence departments.
The Director General of Police is also a member of the panel.
The Commissioner of the State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell will serve as the Member Secretary.
The State CET Cell, Mumbai, has been designated as the nodal agency to provide administrative and logistical support to the committee.
If implemented, the move is expected to make government examinations more secure, transparent and technology driven.
It will also reduce the risk of paper leaks and improving the overall examination process across Maharashtra.
