New Delhi, July 20 (APAC Media): The Central Government has approved the appointment of Prashant Jeevan Patil as Deputy Director General in the Directorate General of Shipping under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
Patil is an IAS officer of the 2012 batch of the Telangana cadre.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Telangana-cadre IAS officer has been appointed at the Director level under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Patil will serve in the post for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The DoPT has directed the Telangana Government to relieve the officer at the earliest to enable him to take up his new assignment.
Currently serving with the Telangana Government, Patil brings administrative experience to his new role in the Directorate General of Shipping, headquartered in Mumbai.
His appointment forms part of the Centre’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across key ministries and departments through the Central Staffing Scheme.
