Market participants said gold prices continue to be influenced by international bullion trends, fluctuations in the US dollar, central bank policy expectations and domestic demand.
Iran said the United States appeared willing to “return to its commitments” but denied that formal negotiations with Washington were under way, after US President Donald Trump suggested a deal was taking shape.
Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi made the remarks in an interview with state broadcaster IRNA on Wednesday. He did not specify which commitments he was referring to, though the comments were widely seen as an apparent reference to the interim understanding reached in June.

Oil prices were little changed following reports that the United States, Iran and Oman were working on an agreement to manage shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route.
Brent crude futures, the international benchmark, edged up 7 cents to $79.43 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell 50 cents to $75.27 a barrel.
Seasonal buying ahead of the festive and wedding period has also supported sentiment in the precious metals market.
Jewellers said consumers planning to purchase gold should compare retail prices across outlets, check BIS hallmark certification and factor in making charges, which vary among retailers.
Analysts noted that domestic gold prices are expected to track movements in global markets, with investors closely monitoring economic data, interest rate expectations and geopolitical developments for further direction.
Gold remains a preferred investment and hedge against inflation, with demand from both retail buyers and investors continuing to support the market despite periodic price fluctuations.
