Patna, August 6 (APAC Media): The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, has approved 17 proposals, including the establishment of 19 exclusive special courts under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, a public-private partnership (PPP) model for medical colleges and hospitals, and a Sports Science Centre in Rajgir.
To strengthen the judicial system, the Cabinet approved 19 additional special courts in districts including West Champaran, Madhubani, Bhojpur, Siwan, Araria, Supaul, Khagaria, Jehanabad, Buxar, Jamui, Kaimur, Katihar, Sitamarhi, Munger, Madhepura, Banka, Sheikhpura, Aurangabad and Lakhisarai.
It also sanctioned 171 non-gazetted posts to support the functioning of these courts and ensure faster disposal of cases.
In the healthcare sector, the Cabinet granted administrative approval for appointing Patna Women’s College as the transaction advisor for operating 16 medical colleges and hospitals, including dental colleges, under the PPP model.
The move aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve medical services across the state.
The Cabinet also approved the establishment, operation and maintenance of a Sports Science Centre at the State Sports Academy complex in Rajgir.
The facility will provide scientific training, injury management and rehabilitation support through advanced sports science equipment.
The government also noted that Bihar’s international-standard cricket stadium is nearing completion and is expected to host international matches soon.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the organisation of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in 2026 to promote patriotism, national unity and public participation.
