Raipur, August 6 (APAC Media): The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has approved several proposals to strengthen artificial intelligence, industrial development, digital governance, rural infrastructure and financial management.
The Cabinet cleared the Chhattisgarh State Artificial Intelligence (AI) Mission, a five-year initiative with an outlay of Rs 500 crore.
The mission includes the establishment of 100 AI Data Labs, five Centres of Excellence, support for 300 AI startups, AI training for 6 lakh students and 1.5 lakh government employees, and the rollout of 50 AI-enabled government services.
The Cabinet also approved concessional land allocation to Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) for setting up Chhattisgarh’s first Heavy Earth Moving Equipment Manufacturing Plant, aimed at boosting manufacturing, attracting investment, creating jobs and supporting MSMEs.
To improve transparency in public works, the government approved the first phase of the Works and Accounts Management Information System (WAMIS) in the Public Works Department.
Developed by C-DAC, Pune, the platform will digitise work approvals, estimates, procurement, billing, accounting and quality monitoring.
The Cabinet also amended the Chief Minister Rural Road and Development Scheme, allowing construction of CC roads and drains in rural areas and expanding eligibility to roads not covered under PMGSY.
Additionally, it approved a Rs 15 crore grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Anjor LIGHT project.
The three-year initiative will strengthen public financial management, promote PPPs, green finance and climate-resilient infrastructure, while supporting the implementation of Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision 2047.
