Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) is offering an online diploma course in artificial intelligence and machine learning (DAI&ML) in association with AAIC Technologies. This is a first-of-its-kind diploma course launched by the University of Hyderabad to make artificial intelligence accessible to all.
The faculty of School of Computer and Information Sciences (SCIS) along with Centre for Distance and Virtual Learning (CDVL) of the university would roll out the program. NITI Aayog member VK Saraswat, on Saturday virtually inaugurated the first batch.
Speaking on this occasion, Saraswat said that considering artificial intelligence has been long used by private sectors for commercial usage, this course will make it accessible to all sectors of society. He also informed that the government is intensely looking to deploy and integrate artificial intelligence in various sectors like agriculture, healthcare, smart city innovations, mobility, education, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
Adding to this, UoH Vice-Chancellor Prof. Appa Rao Podile mentioned the importance of removing a few critical barriers to benefit from AI-based tools. Some of the critical barriers noted were the lack of human expertise in research and AI application, access to intelligent data, and the absence of a collaborative approach to AI adoption and application.
He further stated that the University of Hyderabad had advanced massively in the last five decades to become the most sought after college for students looking to pursue a career in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
