Chhattisgarh shares plans to establish 'nation’s largest wholesale market' in Nava Raipur

Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel shared plans to establish the “nation’s largest wholesale market” in Nava Raipur, spanning 438.47 hectares in Sector 27 of the state capital.

The project, led by the Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority (NRANVP), aims to provide essential amenities for both large and small traders.

During a review meeting at the chief minister’s residence office on Wednesday evening, Baghel directed the NRANVP officials to swiftly execute the action plan for the country’s largest wholesale market.

He emphasised the importance of meeting the requirements of both small and large traders, fostering rapid business growth and commercial activities. The chief minister directed officials to prioritise expediting the development of the wholesale market in the interest of the region’s economic progress.

The meeting also assessed the progress of citizen services and rural development schemes.

“He expressed satisfaction with the effective implementation of the ‘Mitan Yojana’, highlighting the convenience it provides to citizens in accessing government schemes without visiting government offices. The chief minister cited the example of his grandson’s Aadhaar Card being issued through the Mitan scheme,” said a source in the CM secretariat.

Notably, the Mitan scheme, initially limited to municipal corporation areas, has now been extended to include areas under municipalities of the state, benefiting a wider population.

The scheme has successfully facilitated the doorstep delivery of various documents for 1,03,315 beneficiaries in the state’s municipal corporations. ‘Mitan’ has emerged as the most popular service provider, with a high demand for Aadhaar card registrations for children.

Additionally, caste and income certificates are also being efficiently processed. Since the launch of the Mitan scheme in new urban bodies, approximately 2,000 calls have been received in just three days, for which Mitans are taking follow-up actions. Officials shared a plan to introduce a dedicated Mitan Yojana app to further streamline and enhance the service’s accessibility and convenience.

Baghel reviewed the healthcare schemes implemented in urban areas and emphasised the need to establish Dhanwantari medical stores in prime locations. He also instructed officials to conduct regular health camps as part of the ‘Mukhyamantri Slum Swasthya Yojana’.

With the rainy season, the availability of medicines for seasonal diseases was deemed crucial. Officials reported that the beneficiaries have saved a total of Rs.132 crore from the Dhanwantari Medical Stores Scheme.
