New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India’s recent decision to allow the integration of RuPay credit cards with the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has enabled numerous fintech companies to carry out such transactions through their applications. Joining this trend is Jupiter, which now permits its customers to link their RuPay credit cards to the app, and make UPI payments using features like scan-and-pay.
Initially, Jupiter will be accepting RuPay credit cards issued by AU Small Finance Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, and others. The company is confident that its advanced payment settlement technology will enable customers to carry out instant RuPay credit card payments within the app.
A range of UPI payment options are offered to its users by Jupiter, including offline retailer payments through scan and pay and peer-to-peer transactions. Notably, the fintech company recently introduced a co-branded RuPay credit card in collaboration with CSB Bank, exclusively available on the Jupiter app.
Nitin Pulyani, Head of Product – Payments at Jupiter Money, commented, “UPI has seen immense adoption and is India’s most preferred way of spending. With NPCI enabling RuPay credit cards on UPI, it is set to increase the adoption of RuPay credit cards in India.”
In the month of September alone, the Jupiter app facilitated over 4 million UPI transactions, totalling more than Rs 529 crore.
